Abstract

Background: Pregnancy is a time of major physiological, hormonal, and psychological changes placing women at an increased risk of emotional changes during and immediately after pregnancy. Maternal mental health is recognised as a worldwide public health issue. Understanding more about the relationship between unintended pregnancy and PPD is notable, considering the high rates of unintended pregnancies in populations and its potential impact on maternal mental health. The purpose the study was to identify the impact of unplanned pregnancy on antenatal depression.
