Abstract
Background: Coding is a transformation of diagnoses and procedures in health care into a universal medical alphanumeric code. Diagnosis and procedures are obtained through medical record documentation; such as doctor's notes, results of laboratory tests, radiology, and others. Professionals in the field of medical coding ensure that the code specified is correct to use when billing costs, whose activities consist of docu�ment�ing, coding, and making claims to be paid by insurance. This study aimed to investigate correlation between information completeness on the diagnosis code accuracy in obstetrics patients.
Subjects and Method: A cross sectional study was conducted at Islamic Hospital Sultan Agung Semarang, Central Java using secondary data. The data were obtained from 86 obstetrics patients medical records. The dependent variable was diagnosis accuracy. The independent was information completeness. The data were collected by observation. The data were analyzed using Chi square.
Results: Information completeness using AKLA method significantly increased diagnosis accuracy in obstetrics patients (p<0.005)
Conclusion: Information completeness using AKLA method significantly increases diagnosis accuracy in obstetrics patients in Islamic Hospital Sultan Agung Semarang.
