Abstract
Background: Pregnancy is a time of growth, excitement, and hope, but it is also a time when woman is vulnerable to develop various mental health problems. A review of the various factors influencing maternal preparedness, such as anxiety, depression, and socioeconomic and interpersonal problems, would provide an insight into how psychological support should be instilled into the antenatal care of pregnant mothers. This study aimed to examine psychological assistance for pregnant women prepared�ness during birth delivery at Sleman health center I, Yogyakarta.
Subjects and Method: This was a cross sectional study conducted at Sleman health center I, Yogyakarta. A sample of 40 third trimester of pregnant women was selected for this study. The study variables were psychologist assistance and birth delivery readiness. The data were collected using questionnaire. Perceived of birth delivery readiness was described in frequency (n) and percent (%).
Results: All pregnant women with psychologist assistance were mentally prepared to face birth delivery (100%). Of 20 pregnant women without psychologist assistance, 70% had low perceived of readiness and 30% had ready to encounter birth delivery.
