Abstract

Background: Healthcare institutions are obligated to provide safe and quality medical services to patients before considering their management and operation. Patient satisfaction, in addition to the quality of healthcare, is significant in terms of hospital profitability. Patient satisfaction with a hospital leads to an intent to revisit the hospitalpublic and private hospitals. This study aimed to examine correlation between perception toward quality of health service and intention to revisit of health service in inpatient unit.

Subjects and Method: A cross sectional study was carried out at Koni community health center in Jambi, Sumatera, Indonesia, from Novembr 2019 to April 2020. A sample of 106 patients who actively participated in national health insurance was selected by accidental sampling. The dependent variable was health service reuseability. The independent variables were perceived toward quality of life, consisted of punctuality, information accuracy, human relations, and the environment aspects. The data were collected using questionnaire and analyzed by a multiple logistic regression.

Results: Prolonged time in delivering health service (OR= 0.73; 95% CI= 0.25 to 2.10; p= 0.556) and inaccurate information (OR= 0.76; 95% CI=0.22 to 2.58; p= 0.660) reduced the likelihood of health service reuseability. Strong perceived human relationship (OR= 2.97; 95% CI= 1.10 to 7.99; p= 0.031) and conducive environment (OR= 5.31; 95% CI= 2.02 to 13.99; p= 0.001) improved the likelihood of health service reuseability in national health insurance member.

Conclusion: Prolonged time in delivering health service and inaccurate information reduce the likelihood of health service reuseability. Strong perceived human relationship and conducive environment improve the likelihood of health service reuseability in national health insurance member.
