Abstract
Background: Quality of life has been dealt with in the most varied of ways, both in the choice of instrument used to evaluate it and in the diversified target population, including the elderly. World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) provide an overall score and a score by domain for quality of life. This study aimed to examine the reliability test of the WHOQOL-BREF in measuring quality of life in elderly in Central Java.
Subjects and Method: This was a cross sectional study. A sample of 100 elderly was selected for this study randomly. The study variable was reliability score of World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL-BREF). Reliability test was conducted using item-rest correlation and alpha Cronbach� run on �STATA 15.
Results: Item-rest correlation for overall WHOQOL-BREF, psychology domain, and environmental domain were 0.97, 0.91, and 0.92, respectively. Alpha Cronbach for overall WHOQOL-BREF, psychology domain, and environmental domain were 0.93, 0.97, and 0.96, respectively.
Conclusion: WHOQOL-BREF, psychology, and environmental domains show the high reliability to test for elderly in Central Java.
