Abstract

Background: It has been consistently showed that concentration of low-density lipo�protein cholesterol (LDL-C) increasing is associated with an increased risk of myocardial infarction and vascular death. Lack of regular exercise is a major cause of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and contributes to the pathogenesis of cardiovascular system disease via several mechanisms including atherosclerosis, which can be altered by physical activity. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of physical activity on cholesterol level in type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) patients.
