Abstract

Background: Telemedicine has become alternative to access health services during Covid-19 pandemic especially those with chronic conditions, such as diabetes. Back-referral program in the era of social health insurance has become one of the leading programs to improve the health service quality for social health insurance participant. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of telemedicine policy for diabetes mellitus case during covid-19 pandemic

Subjects and Method: A systematic review was conducted by searching articles from 2 databases, namely Science Direct and Sage Journal. PICO research question was as follow. Population: DM patients. Intervention: Back-Referral. Comparison: Face to face referral system. Outcome: The effectiveness telemedicine. The inclusion criteria were full-text English articles published in 2019. Meta-analysis followed PRISMA flow diagram.

Results: Five articles were included in this systematic review. The implementation of telemedicine still had tight restriction by health platform or healthcare institution.

Conclusion: The implementation of telemedicine still had tight restriction by health platform or healthcare institution.
